The Voice Season 6 - Battle Rounds Part 2 (Top 20)

Hello!!!

Another Battle Round? When I heard about another battle round, I was like no!!! Because I really want to see them sing solo. I like the Knockout Round format more than Battle Round Part 2. Here are the current team members from every team.

Team Adam

~ Adam picked Christina, Delvin, Jake & Kat as the winners from the battle and stole Morgan from Team Usher. It's a very solid team. The battles were evenly matched. I was surprised with Kat. I personally love Dawn & Hawkes but I've to agree with Adam's decision because Kat did better than D&H. I also surprised that Adam chose to let go Josh over Delvin but I get it that he want diversity in his team. I was so happy when he stole Morgan cause I really like the raspy-ness in his voice. As for my Top 3 picks from Team Adam, I'm going with Christina Grimmie, Jake Barker & Morgan Wallen with Kat Perkins as fourth choice.

Team Blake

~ Blake picked Audra, Jake W, Ryan & Sisaundra as the winners from the battles and stole Madilyn from Team Usher. I really like Jake W. I think he's better than the other country singers in the reality tv right now (Dexter, CJ & Ben from American Idol). I also love Madilyn's tone so much. Audra is a very traditional country singer. Reminds me of Miranda Lambert and also Carrie Underwood's style. Sisaundra.. I like her but I'm not sure how she's going to fit the current music industry. Ryan has great voice but he's not really memorable. For my Top 3, I pick Jake Worthington, Madilyn Paige & Sisaundra Lewis with Audra as my fourth choice.

Team Shakira

~ Shakira picked Dani, Deja, Kristen & Patrick as the winners from the battles and stole Tess from Team Blake. Firstly, no Clarissa.. Wow. I totally get that Dani performed better than Clarissa but at the same time I think Clarissa is Shakira's best shot to win The Voice. Deja was good but too young. Kristen & Patrick were not really memorable during their battles. Fortunately for Shakira, she stole a very strong female singer, Tess Boyer. This girl is so good. I think she has better shot to make it to the final 3 with Team Shakira over the other teams. So I'm glad that she picked Shakira as her new mentor. My Top 3 picks are Tess, Dani & Deja with Kristen as my fourth choice.

Team Usher

~ Usher picked Bria, Melissa, Stevie Jo & T.J. as the winners from the battles and stole Josh from Team Adam. Usher still has some of the best singer in his team. I don't really get T.J.'s style but the other 4 are really strong singers for me. Bria really needs a better song for her vocal because for the second time in a row she was overshadowed by her opponents (Tess in Battle 1 & Madilyn in Battle 2). Usher still has some faith on her. Melissa is very dynamic. I love her. Stevie Jo & Josh are kinda similar to me. I mean their style. Both of them have a very good contemporary R&B choice. T.J is a R&B singer too but he is more traditional and old-fashioned to me. My Top 3 are Bria, Melissa & Stevie Jo with Josh as my fourth choice.

Here are some of the artist that we lost from Battle Round Part 2 who I think should go through to the Playoff Round

~ I think these 5 deserved another chance. Since Chris Martin was such a great mentor why don't he picks these 5 to be on his team. Lol.. Just my wishful thinking. I'll see you after the Playoffs!!!

American Idol Season 13 - Top 8 Live Show

Hello!!!

The theme for this week is 'Back to the Start'. The contestants are going to sing their audition song again. Here are my personal review on each performances.

1. Jessica Meuse (Blue Eyed Lies by Jessica Meuse)

~ Jess auditioned with her own song. I love the song so much. I think this performance was definitely one of my favorite performance from Jess. She was so comfortable with her own songs. However the judges weren't so excited and I didn't get that kind of reactions for her performance at all. They basically said that it was just an okay performance. A

2. C.J Harris (Soulshine by The Allman Brothers Band)

~ A little bit better from CJ but still, his biggest problem was his inconsistency. I loved some parts but hated it when he was out of tune. I really want to like CJ but this didn't give him any justice. B-

3. Sam Woolf (Lego House by Ed Sheeran)

~ Again, loved his vocal. His voice is ready. He can be a recording artist right now but still his problem was the connection. But I saw that he tried so much to connect to the song emotionally. I'm not sure if this performance will help him to avoid the bottom 3. B+

4. Malaya Watson (Ain't No Way by Aretha Franklin)

~ Very consistent. Malaya continued to improve from week to week. Especially her ability to control her vocal. So much better. But honestly, this song didn't really give any impact to me as her previous performance. Still a solid vocal performance just the song.. Really bored me. B+

5. Dexter Roberts (One Mississippi by Brett Eldredge)

~ I'm not a fan of Dexter but he did a great job this week so I have to give him the credit. His phrasing and diction improved. But the best part of this performance to me was Alison Iraheta. She was robbed back in Season 8!!! A-

6. Jena Irene (Rolling In The Deep by Adele)

~ I love the arrangement so much. I think it's very smart of her to avoid the same arrangement as the original version because no one can beat it. Adele is like... Adele... I like Jena's version. I'm so glad she continued to do better and better from week to week. A

7. Caleb Johnson (Chain of Fools by Aretha Franklin)

~ Caleb was just okay for me this week. He grown on me lately but this week it didn't work for me. I don't know why. Probably the song choice. I agreed with Harry that sometimes it feels like we watched the same performance from Caleb. B

8. Alex Preston (Fairytale by Alex Preston)

~ I love everything about this performance. From his vocal to the song, I love it. He wrote the song. What a great song. Alex is definitely the one to beat right now. A+

Overall, such a great week. Here is my ranking for this week;

1. Alex Preston: A+
2. Jena Irene: A
3. Jessica Meuse: A
4. Dexter Roberts: A-
5. Sam Woolf: B+
6. Malaya Watson: B+
7. Caleb Johnson: B
8. CJ Harris: B-

Result:

Bottom 3: Sam Woolf, Malaya Watson & CJ Harris

Eliminated: Sam Woolf (Saved)

I think CJ should go home over Sam. I like Sam but I'm not sure if he deserved the Judges Save. I think he deserved to outlast CJ & Dexter overall, but it very risky to use it on him. Now I'm worried for my favorites (Alex, Jena, Jess & Malaya)

Next week the theme is 80's. Arghh. Not really a fan of 80's music but we will see.

Mengisi Borang UPU

Hello!!!

Bayangkan kau taip banyak-banyak then bila nak submit atau save, tak dapat sebab server down.

After beberapa kali cuba berjaya jugak. Sekarang semua dah selesai.

Cakap pasal adik kau, dia plan nak masuk Saito College untuk kursus Diploma in Security Management, Honestly aku pun tak paham kenapa sebab result dia agak bagus. Memang layak masuk IPTA. Entahlah kalau tu minat dia nak buat macam mana. Tapi aku still isi borang UPU untuk dia.

Aku doakan semuanya berjalan lancar.

Album Review: Head or Heart by Christina Perri

Hello!!!

Aku actually first time dengar lagu Christina Perri menerusi rancangan 'So You Think You Can Dance'. First time dengar lagu 'Jar of Hearts' terus buat aku berminat untuk follow perkembangan dia. Aku suka sangat dengan first album dia terutama lagu 'Jar of Hearts dan 'Arms'.

A little bit Ellie Goulding's vibes from the song.

Aku juga suka dengan 'Sea of Lovers' dan 'I Don't Wanna Break'. Two beautiful ballads.

1."Trust"
2."Burning Gold"
3."Be My Forever" (featuring Ed Sheeran)
4."Human"
5."One Night"
6."I Don't Wanna Break"
7."Sea of Lovers"
8."The Words"
9."Lonely Child"
10."Run"
11."Butterfly"
12."Shot Me in the Heart"
13."I Believe"

American Idol Season 13 - Top 9 Live Show

Hello

The theme this week is 'I'm With The Band'. Basically, the contestants will sing a song with the band this time. So I expected to hear lot of up-tempo songs since it works better with the band. Here are my recap of this week performance.

1. Alex Preston (Don't Speak by No Doubt)

~ Wait. I don't get why the judges didn't like it because this is so creative. I love what he did with the song especially start the song with acapella. I love everything about this performance. A

2. Majesty Rose (Shake It Out by Florence & The Machine)

~ I love this song. I'm not sure if this song is perfect for Majesty but I like her performance. The beginning was so beautiful but when the tempo getting fast and faster, it affected her performance. Majesty need to know the limitation of her vocal. She tried to do some runs and it didn't end well for her. B

3. Dexter Roberts (Boondocks by Little Big Time)

~ It was so boring and safe... His song choice is getting worst from week to week. I don't know what else to say except the fact that he should go home. C

4. Malaya Watson (The Long & Winding Road by The Beatles)

~ Malaya continue her streak of great performances. This is so beautiful. Her vocal alone is getting better and better. She knew how to pick a song that highlighted her vocal. Beautiful job but she needs to mix it up a little bit. Since 'Runaway Baby' she constantly picked slow songs. She might be scared to pick an up-tempo song considering how disaster was her performance but still, there's a lot of up-tempo songs that might suit her vocal range. A-

5. Sam Woolf (Hey There Delilah by Plain White T's)

~ Much better than last week but still, Sam needs to work on his expression and connects to the song more. He didn't have major problem with his pitch but the emotion. This song was supposed to be delivered with heart but I didn't see it from him this week. B

6. Jessica Meuse (Rhiannon by Fleetwood Mac)

~ Great song choice from Jessica. I do want to see her took more risk with her song choice. I want to see she picked an unexpected song and make it her own. Good performance from Jessica. B+

7. CJ Harris (If It Hadn't Been For Love by The SteelDrivers)

~ Better than last week but he still has some trouble to sing in tune. Sometimes, he lost the tempo but luckily, he managed to find the groove back. It wasn't that bad, but still I think he can do better than this. B-

8. Caleb Johnson (Dazed And Confused by Let Zappelin)

~ This is Caleb's week to shine. His energy was great. He totally rocked the stage. His vocal is on point. Great performance from Caleb. A

9. Jena Irene (Bring Me To Life by Evanescence)

~ Jena killed it this week. Great vocal. I love the way she interacted with the band. Her energy level is great. Jena is definitely the strongest female in the competition right now. A

Great week. I love the outcome of this week. I can see the improvements from everyone except for Dexter. Here is my ranking.

1. Jena Irene: A
2. Caleb Johnson: A
3. Alex Preston: A
4. Malaya Watson: A
5. Jessica Meuse: B+
6. Sam Woolf: B
7. Majesty Rose: B
8. CJ Harris: B-
9. Dexter Roberts: C

Results:

Bottom 3: Majesty Rose, Dexter Roberts & CJ Harris

Eliminated: Majesty Rose

Argh.. I have feelings that Majesty will be the one with the lowest number of votes this week but I still couldn't believe that Dexter or even CJ last longer than her. I totally understand why the judges didn't use the save on her.

Next week the theme is 'Audition Songs'. I kinda like this theme. Hopefully no more Dexter!!!
