The Voice Season 6 - Battle Rounds (Top 32)

Hello!!!

The Battle Rounds were over. But this season, we're going to have another Battle Rounds. Instead of Knockout Rounds, the producer chose to have Battle Rounds Part 2. Honestly, I prefer the Knockout Rounds more because I want to judge them on their solo performance instead of another duet performance. No matter what, here are the current team so far;

Team Adam

Battle Winners: Sam Behymer, Delvin Choice, Josh Kaufman, Christina Grimmie, Dawn & Hawkes & Kat Perkins.

~ We didn't get to see full battle from Christina but I still think she's a frontrunner along with Josh and Dawn & Hawkes. Not really a fan of Delvin & Kat but Sam, she really surprised me in her battle. She defeated a 4-chairs artist, Cary Laine. I thought Cary is going to defeat her easily.

Stolen: Jake Barker & Brittnee Camille

~ Adam was the first coach to use both of his steals and I think he stole 2 strong artist. Jake is such a good artist. Like I said before, I really like his tone. And Brittnee, she improved from her audition.

Top 4 Prediction (Team Adam):
Christina Grimmie, Josh Kaufman, Jake Barker and Dawn & Hawkes

Team Blake

Battle Winners: Audra McLaughlin, Megan Ruger, Ryan White Maloney, Kaleigh Glanton, Sisaundra Lewis & Jake Worthington

~ Blake also has a strong team this season. I love the diversity in Blake's team this season. I love Sisaundra. Megan has a great rock tone. I also like Jake W. I'm torn between Audra & Kaleigh. I think both artist are too similar and only one of them will make it to the Playoffs. Not really a fan of Ryan.

Stolen: Tess Boyer & Biff Gore

~ I remember Tess' audition even though it was montaged because she sang Wings from Little Mix and when she was paired with the one with the strongest audition this cycle, Bria Kelly, I thought she was done but to me actually she slayed Bria. I totally get why Usher picked Bria so I'm really happy that Blake chose to steal Tess. She deserved that. However Blake kinda wasted his steal on Biff. I don't get that.

Top 4 Prediction (Team Blake):
Sisaundra Lewis, Jake Worthington, Tess Boyer & Audra McLaughlin

Team Shakira

Battle Winners: Ddendyl, Emily B, Deja Hall, Kristen Merlin, Dani Moz & Clarissa Serna.

~ Clarissa is definitely Shakira's strongest chance to win The Voice. But Deja also has some potential. The other 4 winners weren't really memorable for me. They were good but that's it. Nothing special.

Stolen: Josh Murley & Patrick Thompson

~ I don't know why but I think Shakira wasted both of her steals this season. I don't think any of the stolen artist from her team could win this season

Top 4 Prediction (Team Shakira):
Clarissa Serna, Deja Hall, Kristen Merlin & Patrick Thompson.

Team Usher

Battle Winners: Melissa Jimenez, Stevie Jo, Bria Kelly, Morgan Wallen, TJ Wilkins & Madilyn Paige.

~ Usher clearly has strong team this season. Out of the 8 stolen artists, half of them came from Team Usher. But Usher still has strong artist in his team. I love Melissa, Bria, Stevie & Madilyn. Not really a fan of TJ and I still want to know more about Morgan. He can be a surprise.

Stolen: Music Box & Cierra Mickens

~ Usher took such a long time to steal his first artist then he chose to sing Music Box? I was like that his special one that he's been waiting. But Usher redeemed himself when he stole Cierra who I think should win over Emily B.

Top 4 Prediction (Team Usher):
Bria Kelly, Melissa Jimenez, Stevie Jo & Madilyn Paige

I can't wait to see the next Battle. I hope it's worth it for the producer to change the format this season.

Movie Review: Need For Speed

Hello!!!

Aku tak plan pun nak tengok movie ni. Tapi hari tu masa nak tengok Divergent, kena tunggu lama sikit sebab tiket dah habis. So bila tengok jam, boleh muat satu lagi movie. So aku beli sekali tiket Need For Speed.

Honestly, aku tak expect apa pun bila tengok cerita ni. Aku bajet filem ini sekadar filem perlumbaan biasa tetapi aku agak terkejut kerana plot cerita dia agak bagus. Gandingan pelakon Breaking Bad, Aaron Paul bersama Imogen Poots juga sangat bagus. Watak Julia memang menarik bukan sekadar heroin tempelan yang menyerikan filem aksi.

Babak perlumbaaan dia memeningkan kepala aku sikit. Sebab aku memang tak suka benda-benda yang laju ni. But overall, aku suka movie ni.

Walaupun filem ini mengambil masa selama 2 jam 30 minit aku still rasa movie ni agak rushing.

The Voice Season 6 - Top 48 & Full Team

Hello!!!

The Voice is back. I felt like it was just yesterday Tessanne Chin was crowned as the winner, but we have another season already. But the good news is, we have Usher & Shakira again. More good news, no more Ceelo Green in the future season of The Voice.

Here are the Top 48 for this season.

Team Adam

Team Adam this season is not as strong as last season but there are still a couple of my favorites in his team. Here are my top 6 from Team Adam

- Christina Grimmie: She's a Youtube artist. I known her and used to watch lot of her video at Youtube. She has a very thin but strong tone. Quite unique and distinctive.

- Sam Behymer: She's so cute. She has a very quirky tone. And lovable personality.

- Dawn & Hawkes: Alex & Sierra 2.0 but they are still different enough. I love their audition. So much potential.

- Josh Kaufman: The strongest male vocalist this season. I love his tone.

- Caleb Elder: He was the last contestants on Team Adam. Great personality. I love his attitude. Very commercial.

- Cary Laine: She's a four chair. Strong country voice. She's a mother and her son is so adorable.

Team Blake

I was surprised with Team Blake this season. Not so many country singers. He's using a different strategy this season. Here are my favorites from Team Blake

- Audra McLaughlin: She has a beautiful pop country tone. To me she's one of the strongest country singer this season.

- Sisaundra Lewis: She's so energetic. Lot of singing experiences.

- Jake Worthington: The only male country singer from Team Blake but he's good. He used to audition before and I hate his audition but this season, his audition is actually one of my favorites.

- Megan Ruger: She's a pop rock singer. Love her tone so much. Reminds me of Pink.

- Paula Deanda: She's a former recording artist. Her most popular single was 'Walk Away'. One of my favorite when I was still a teenage. Rooting for her

- Kaleigh Glanton: Country singer. Beautiful tone but her tone to me was pure country compared to Audra. Not sure if Blake wants to have two country female singers in his team.

Team Shakira

Team Shakira this season is much better than her last team. But still, Shakira has the least number of 4-Chairs artist in her team.

- Clarissa Serna: Her only 4-Chairs artist. And her audition is my favorite this season. She sings Zombie and it's so good.

- Ddendyl: Unique name and her voice is quite unique too. Quirky vibes and has so much potential

- Jeremy Briggs: He gave me a classic rocker vibes from his audition. Reminds me of Bon Jovi. I'm worried though if the judges think he's a dated rocker.

- Kristen Merlin: Country female singer but she's so unique due to her appearance.

- Dani Moz: She's a soul pop singer. Strong voice.

Cierra Mickens: She's so cute and adorable. So much potential. But she needs to work on her style more.

Team Usher

I think Usher has the strongest team this season. He has so many artist with 4-Chairs & 3-Chairs this season. Here are some of my favorites

- Bria Kelly: Her high range is so great. She's the one to beat in this competition.

- Melissa Jimenez: She used to be a recording artist but I can't remember her name. So commercial and she can sing!!!

- Jake Barker: This is his first time performed in front of people and he did great. His tone reminds me of Justin Timberlake a little bit.

- Stevie Jo: Another white R&B singer in Team Usher. He's a huge fan of Usher. Great R&B tone

- Madelyn Paige: She's a singer songwriter. I like her tone. Sweet and smooth.

- Brittnee Camelle: Another commercial singer from Team Usher. She's a pop singer. She's so gorgeous.

I think it's going to be a great season. Last season was good but I really hate the way Ceelo treat his artist especially my favorite Caroline Pennell. I'm looking forward to see more.

American Idol Season 13 - Top 10 Live Show

Hello!!!

After such a great show last week, I have high expectations for this week show. The theme is 'Billboard Hot 100'. Here is my recap.

1. MK Nobilette (Perfect by Pink)

~ Hollie Cavanagh & Kree Harrison used to sing this. I love Hollie's version the most. MK started so well. But then she lost the tempo and it became such a mess but she managed to end the song correctly. However, I'm not sure how she's going to survive the elimination. C-

2. Dexter Roberts (Cruise by Florida-Georgia Line)

~ Again, his biggest issue is his phrasing. Then, he sings like he is in a bar. I'm not a fan of this performance at all. D+

3. Jena Irene (Clarity by Zedd ft Foxes)

~ Some parts were really good and some of them wasn't. I'm torn with this performance. I think Jena has great energy and it helped this performance a lot. B+

4. Alex Preston (Story Of My Life by One Direction)

~ Alex is officially the one to beat and it's going to be hard to beat him in this competition. Beautiful rendition of the song and great arrangement. A

5. Malaya Watson (When I Was Your Man by Bruno Mars)

~ Candice Glover sang this song last year and she's such a great vocalist but honestly I love Malaya's version more. Great voice control from Malaya this week. She improved from week to week. I love this. A

6. Caleb Johnson (The Edge of Glory by Lady GaGa)

~ Erika Van Pelt sang this song two years ago. Caleb did okay. But something is missing from this performance. I don't feel the magic like his performance last week. Still, he should be okay this week. B

7. CJ Harris (Invisible by Hunter Hayes)

~ My favorite song currently and I hate to say this but CJ destroyed this song. I thought this song should be perfect for him but I was wrong. He was so flat and out of tunes. He should be in the bottom 3 this week. D

8. Jessica Meuse (Pumped Up Kicks by Foster The People)

~ Jessica did a good job this week. I love her version. I'm not sure if this song is suitable (lyrics wise). I just don't like the message of this song. But still a good performance from Jess. B+

9. Majesty Rose (Wake Me Up by Avicii)

~ I love her performance this week. Million miles better after the disastrous last week. Beautiful arrangement. Perfect song for Majesty. This is the real Majesty Rose. A-

10. Sam Woolf (We Are Young by Fun)

~ Sam also improved from last week. But still, he needs to show more personality. I want more energy from him. His vocal is great as usual. B+

Overall, not as good as last week but still okay. Here is my rankings for this week.

1. Malaya Watson: A
2. Alex Preston: A
3. Majesty Rose: A-
4. Jessica Meuse: B+
5. Sam Woolf: B+
6. Jena Irene: B+
7. Caleb Johnson: B
8. MK Nobilette: C-
9. Dexter Roberts: D+
10. CJ Harris: D

Results:

Bottom 3: Dexter Roberts, Majesty Rose & MK Nobilette

Eliminated: MK Nobilette

What!!! Majesty is in bottom 3. I don't get it at all. I think she's one of the best this week. Glad that she survived the elimination. MK. I felt bad for her. But it's her time. Honestly I rather to see her again than Dexter.

Next week is Top 9 and the theme is (I'm With The) Band. I guess they will song together with the band.

American Idol Season 13 - Top 11 Live Show

Hello!!!

The theme for the Top 11 show is Songs from the Cinema. One of my favorite theme in American Idol. Glad to see it back again. I don't think we have this theme last season. Here is my recap for the Top 11 live show.

1. Sam Woolf (Come Together by The Beatles)

~ Different song choice from Sam. His vocal is great but his performance lack of energy. And his personality is quite bland for this song. Lot of contestants used to sing this song such as Crystal Bowersox, Carly Smithson & last year winner, Candice. They slayed it and Sam's version sounded so amateur compared to those three. B-

2. Jessica Meuse (The Sound of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel)

~ I don't like the fact that Jessica gets another early slot for her performance. And the band was so off. Jessica tried her best but the band never recovered. It's not her fault. Too bad cause this performance has so much potential. B

3. CJ Harris (Can't You See by Marshall Tucker Band)

~ Finally, CJ delivered his best performance yet. Great song choice. I just love the grittiness in his tone. Great performance from CJ. A-

4. Dexter Roberts (Sweet Home Alabama by Kid Rock)

~ Kinda karaoke-ish for me. I don't really like this performance. I think he needs to work on his phrasing more. I can't even understand his phrasing. C+

5. Ben Briley (Bennie & The Jets by Elton John)

~ Haley Reinhart slayed this song effortlessly. Ben's version was no where near Haley's version. I applaud the fact that he want to do something different but this isn't a right song for him. C

6. Majesty Rose (Let It Go by Idina Menzel)

~ Oh no Majesty. When I heard that she's going to sing this, I know it's not going to end well. Her vocal isn't meant for a big ballad song. It's weird. I'm worried for her. C+

7. Caleb Johnson (Skyfall by Adele)

~ Another Oscar winning song. But Caleb totally slayed it. This is my favorite performance from Caleb. The arrangement was perfect for his voice. A

8. MK Nobilette (To Make You Feel My Love by Garth Brooks)

~ Only Kris Allen used to sing this before. I love his version so much. MK did good this week. Her vocal is beautiful. But I'm not sure if it is enough to save her from bottom 2. B+

9. Alex Preston (Falling Slowly by Glen Hansard & Marketa Irglova)

~ I heard so many version of this song already. Kris Allen used to sing this before. And also Crytal & Lee sang this song together in Season 9. But Alex's version is my favorite. Beautiful & gorgeous. A

10. Jena Irene (Decode by Paramore)

~ Jena!!! She slayed the song. Effortlessly. I love her range. Such a dynamic performance from her. One of my favorite performance in this season. A

11. Malaya Watson (I Am Changing by Jennifer Hudson)

~ The judges love this performance. I like it but I don't think it is great. Malaya pushed too hard with her vocal and on certain part she sounds like she was screaming. But it should be enough to save her. B

Finally a great week. I love lot of performances. Here are my rankings for this week

1. Jena Irene: A
2. Alex Preston: A
3. Caleb Johnson: A
4. CJ Harris: A-
5. MK Nobilette: B+
6. Malaya Watson: B
7. Jessica Meuse: B
8. Sam Woolf: B-
9. Dexter Roberts: C+
10. Majesty Rose: C+
11. Ben Briley: C

Results:

Bottom 3: Ben Briley, Majesty Rose & Sam Woolf

Eliminated: Ben Briley

I was surprised to see both Majesty & Sam in the bottom 3. Yeah their performance wasn't good compared to the others but I didn't expected to see them here. I guess the new voting system worked. So far only the contestants who didn't perform well ended up in the bottom 3.

Next week the theme is Billboard Hot 100. Love the theme cause it allows contestants to find a better song for them.

Movie Review: Non-Stop

Hello!!!

Hari tu nak buat review untuk movie Non Stop. Tetapi macam tak berapa selesa sangat due to MH370 insiden. Harap-harap mereka semua selamat.

The Avril Lavigne Tour: Live in KL 2014

Hello!!!

Kesihatan aku agak terjejas sejak kebelakangan ini. Puncanya adalah jerebu lah. So nak bernafas pun memang tak selesa. Sekarang sudah beransur pulih. Jerebu pun makin lama dah surut. Hujan pun dah mula turun. Dan bekalan air pun semakin okay. Syukur Alhamdulillah.

4 tiket actually. So aku ajak Mr Q (driver), Miss DB (yang merupakan peminat Avril Lavigne dan of course lah DD (my roomie).

Aku still ingat lagi masa Avril Lavigne mula-mula keluar dulu. Dalam penghujung 2002 jugak. Masa tu aku nak SPM.

Huhu. Dalam jam 8 lebih konsert bermula.

Setlist dia memuaskan hati aku juga walaupun sedikit sedih tiada lagu-lagu favorite aku seperti When You're Gone, Keep Holding On & Wish You Were Here.

"Hello Kitty"
"Girlfriend"
"Rock N Roll"
"Here's to Never Growing Up"
"I Always Get What I Want"
"Hush Hush"
"Let Me Go"
"My Happy Ending"
"Don't Tell Me"
"Complicated"
"Bad Girl" / "The Beautiful People"
"He Wasn't"
"Losing Grip"
"Sk8er Boi"
"Smile"
"What the Hell"
"I'm with You"

Walaupun aku tak berapa nak sihat pada malam tu, aku still all out sing along to my favorite songs. Penonton dekat kawasan aku pula memang sempoi. This one is more fun sebab aku tahu banyak lirik-lirik lagu Avril Lavigne.

Avril memang energetik. Vokal sememangnya bukan aset utama Avril tetapi dia still berjaya buat aku kagum. Sound sistem memang bagus. Overall, I have so much fun!!!!

American Idol Season 13 - Top 12 Live Show

Hello!!!

Top 13 show was such a disappointment to me. I lost one of my favorites due to her song choice. Hopefully none of my favorites made a ridiculous song choice this week.

Theme this week is Home. They need to sing a song that remind them of their home.

1. Jena Irene (Suddenly I See by KT Tunstall)

~ Nice vocal but this song? I don't think it's a very challenging song for Jena. I'm not a fan of her song choice. I'm worried for her. B-

2. Alex Preston (I Don't Wanna Be by Gavin Degraw)

~ I think this song is perfect for Alex but I really hate the arrangement. What's wrong with the band this season. They suck. I don't like the reggae vibes in the arrangement at all. C+

3. Jessica Meuse (White Flag by Dido)

~ Love this song. I think it's a great song for her but somehow, the band ruined it for me. It's too loud. It wasn't bad but I think Jess can do better than this. B

4. Dexter Roberts (Lucky Man by Montgomery Gentry)

~ Good performance from Dexter. Much better than last week. He connected to the song. I like it but it felt a little bit too safe. B+

5. Emily Piriz (Let's Get Loud by Jennifer Lopez)

~ What? This isn't her at all. I don't get the song choice. Just because it was sang by a latin artist? Honestly I like this song but it wasn't suitable for a singing competition. And her energy wasn't just enough. C-

6. Caleb Johnson (Working Man by Rush)

~ Nice and solid performance. But I always get the same vibes from Caleb. Really want him to try something new. B+

7. MK Nobilette (Drops of Jupiter by Train)

~ It's a little bit bland and forgettable. I'm not sure about this. I think she's in danger of leaving. It wasn't that bad but it was so boring. C

8. CJ Harris (Waiting on the World to Change by John Mayer)

~ CJ has so much potential. So it kills me to see he didn't delivered because he could. This is not a perfect song for him. I don't like his phrasing. Not a good performance. C

9. Sam Woolf (Just One by Blind Tide)

~ I never heard this song or know anything about Blind Tide but it's a great song for him. I want to see he connected to the song more. He's a good singer but I want to see some emotion from him. B+

10. Malaya Watson (Take Me to the King by Tamela Mann)

~ This is definitely the real Malaya. Million miles better than last week. Malaya has so much potential but I still think she's too young for this. 2 more years, then she can win this. A-

11. Ben Briley (Turning Home by David Nail)

~ Good performance from Ben. Not really my thing. But he did good. I really want to see something different from him. Right now, he's in the middle of the pack. B

12. Majesty Rose (Fix You by Coldplay)

~ The first part of this song is so freakin' beautiful. I thought she's going to have her moment but dang.. when the band entered, her momentum was just gone. Hate the arrangement. Too bad. B+

Another boring week for me. I don't like the arrangement at all. I didn't felt too invested with this season. Too bad cause the I have high hopes for this season.

My Ranking;

1. Malaya Watson: A-
2. Dexter Roberts: B+
3. Majesty Rose: B+
4. Caleb Johnson: B+
5. Sam Woolf: B+
6. Jena Irene: B
7. Jessica Meuse: B
8. Ben Briley: B
9. Alex Preston: C+
10. MK Nobilette: C
11. CJ Harris: C
12. Emily Piriz: C-

Results:

Bottom 3: Emily Piriz, M.K Nobilette & Jena Irene

Eliminated: Emily Piriz

Emily... I love her. But why she picked that song. She's better than that. Last week, I was like she's the dark horse. Guess I was worng after all.

Next week the theme is Cinema which is songs from the movie. I really want to hear Young & Beautiful or Let It Go.

Pray For MH370

Salam!!!

Pagi tadi aku dikejutkan dengan berita pasal kehilangan kapal terbang Malaysia Airline MH 370. Masa dapat tahu pasal ni, aku duk asyik merewang dekat ATRL then nampak salah satu post di sana. Terkejut aku. Shila kan selalu ulang alik ke China then sekarang pula tengah join I Am A Singer 2.

Pray for MH370..... Amin!!!

American Idol Season 13 - Top 13 Live Show

Hello!!!

Finally, I manage to watch everything. A little bit busy. So many things to do. But I'm back. Here are my recap for the last week show.

1. Dexter Roberts (Aw Naw by Chris Young)

~ This is a pure country song. I don't mind the song but this song isn't really suitable for a singing competition. This is probably Dexter's worst performance so far. I'm not a fan of this performance at all. C-

2. Malaya Watson (Runaway Baby by Bruno Mars)

~ When I heard that she is going to sing this song, I know it will be such a trainwreck and yeah I was right. I don't get this song choice at all. I don't see 'Malaya' here because the theme this week is 'This is Me' so I want to see who she is as an artist. D

3. Kristen O'Connor (Beautiful Disaster by Kelly Clarkson)

~ I saw Jena Irene performed this song in her youtube so I was surprised that Kristen is going to sing this. To make things worst, she's going to do the mid tempo version which is not a great version at all compare to the piano one. It was a disaster. She has trouble with her ear monitors. It wasn't as bad as the first two performance but the fact that she's a wildcard isn't going to help at all. C

4. Ben Briley (Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash)

~ Not really my thing. I think the tempo was too fast but slightly better than Kristen. I'm so not impressed with the song choices so far. C+

5. C.J Harris (Radio by Darius Rucker)

~ I love C.J but this wasn't his best performance. I don't think the song fits him. I don't mind he's trying to sing up-tempo or mid-tempo but this week he supposed to show his strength which is a slow soulful country song. C

6. M.K Nobilette (Satisfaction by Allen Stone)

~ I don't have any idea who's the singer. M.K surprised me last week but this week, I wasn't impressed at all. It was sloppy and kinda messy. M.K's problem is similar to C.J, they connected more to the audience with the slow songs. C

7. Majesty Rose (Tightrope by Janelle Monae)

~ This is definitely her thing. I can see this kind of music for her records. I love Majesty but I think this performance was too simple. It's good but not really memorable. Not challenging enough for her. B+

8. Jena Irene (The Scientist by Coldplay)

~ I like this. Not so sure with the arrangements. I prefer her to sing this with piano but it's a very solid performance. Jena totally gave me Alison Iraheta's vibes from her performance. B+

9. Alex Preston (A Beautiful Mess by Jason Mraz)

~ Alex & Sierra!!! So glad to see them in the audience along with Alex Preston's girlfriend, Jillian. And Alex was brilliant again this week. His song choice, the way he captured every moment with his voice, just amazing. Finally a contender for Sam Woolf. A-

10. Jessica Meuse (The Crow & The Butterfly by Shinedown)

~ Jessica is getting better as well. I love the fact that picked the right song to highlight his beautiful rock voice. One of my favorites this week. A-

11. Emily Piriz (Glitter in the Air by Pink)

~ I love this so much. Emily that I loved during final Hollywood performance is back. Gorgeous vocal. She could be a surprise contender. A-

12. Sam Woolf (Unwell by Matchbox 20)

~ Solid performance from Sam. I like it but I still think he could do better. Especially with the arrangement. Overall, good performance. B+

13. Caleb Johnson (Pressure & Time by Rival Sons)

~ Caleb is a great performer but something about this performance bother me. I find it a little bit karaoke. Something that you can get from the bar or club. But it's a solid performance after all. B

Overall, not a really good week. I think many of them still don't know who they are as an artist.

Totally see this coming. I love Kristen but the song was just wrong for her. She stated that she didn't pick the song and this song was given to her by a producer. What... The theme this week was 'This is Me' but the producer picked the song? Same with Malaya. And it was a bad song choice. She's so much better with her guitar and that was her plan actually. This is one of the reason why I don't like American Idol. Producer's manipulation. No wonder the ratings are declining. You know something is wrong when half of the contestants didn't performed well during 'This is Me' week.

Tomorrow, the theme is 'Home'. Not sure what it means yet. I'm more excited with the fact that Kodaline will sing All I Want during result show. My favorite song right now!!!
